We could not take our eyes off the iconic portfolio that Debanjan holds and that is why we interviewed the man behind the lens. For such an incredible work of art, Debanjan entered the Top 1℅ of the contest by 35 awards and has also been awarded as the ‘Best Street Life In Bright Colours Photographer (India)’ by 35 awards.
In this exclusive interview with Capturing WOW, learn more about Debanjan’s journey and his inspiration along with his future endeavours.
Talking about his inspiration Debanjan said, “I get inspired from the city life. When I go out in the morning to shoot, all my surroundings like the streets inspire me to capture those beautiful moments”.
“Yes, I would love to help those parents who are not financially stable to hire photographers for their child’s wedding. I have already covered a couple of weddings with the help of my friends and I do it for my happiness. I don’t wish to do this through an NGO but I want to do it on my own, for my happiness.”
“I strongly feel that today’s aspiring photographers need to learn and know the basic knowledge of photography. I see several photographers today who have a good budget and go on to buy expensive cameras. This is how they shoot great photographs without having any knowledge of photography. You don’t have to go to photography schools to learn and gain knowledge of photography. You could learn from online platforms like YouTube and polish your skills. You have to learn every day because every experience tells a different story.”
“There are a lot of opportunities in the industry today. But honestly, you cannot be waiting for opportunities to come to you. You have to keep building yourself and keep building a strong portfolio. This is how you could get opportunities in the industry.”
“I believe that video is the future. Platforms like Instagram, Youtube are changing and evolving into video platforms. I am a Travel photographer and for me, photography is a never-ending process. In addition to photography, I would love to learn more about videography. I am looking forward to establishing myself as a travel filmmaker in the next 2 years.”
